New purse
It is still not the perfect purse but it is getting closer--I think the size is right. The straps need to be about an inch or two longer. The interior pockets need interfacing. The whole thing needs one more layer of interfacing--perhaps with the lining and outside bonded together.
It will do for now.

Madras madness! I love the clash 'o patterns you have there.
ohhh! i too have been on a quest to make the perfect purse. i like all the different pockets you have. i am a great believer in never having enough pockets!! have you thought of using timtex or peltex? its super de duper thick and sturdy. it would work great in your bag.i couldnt see, do you have a spot for your cell?
hehe i see it now!
I do have a cell pocket, pen pockets, calendar pocket and random pocket. I have thought of peltex but I am a cheapskate and do not want to pay for it--even with a jo-anns coupon. I have a personal challenge to use only stuff I have on hand--as a I have a lot. But really I must break down and get some one of these days.
what else do you use instead of it?
i have heard of people using fleece, but it doesnt have that starchiness, know what i mean??
it is good when you need it
and dont feel bad, i am el cheapo too!
hey maybe we could do a swap of some sort and then it wouldnt be you buying it???
i just bought a new purse last nite and i dont like it already, it only has (are you sitting down??) one random pocket!!!! so now my cell floats around the bottom of the purse with everything else in there. i need to make a cell carrier to attach to the strap! hmmmm add that to my list of everything else i need to make!
Well with this purse I used two layers of a heavy fusible pellon--maybe a craft weight. I have lots of fleece but I don't think that would work well--no starchiness like you say.
Hmm, a swap, I could go for a swap--what should we swap? I have tons of raw materials--well you saw. Got any requests?
um, well lets see, i like 30's-50's fabrics and style. i like antique things. i like patterns for softies(including bears. i like shabby chic style and colors. i like vintage buttons in pretty colors(green, yellow, pink, red) or unusual shapes/patterns. i dont like lace. i dont like muddy colors or gaudy. hows that??
Susan--Send me your email--mine is on the blog--or pasha at grantb.org and we can talk!
Great bag!!! LOVE the pockets!
